BIRDS SA welcomes applications from Postgraduate or Honours students at South Australian Universities for grants of up to $3000 towards their original research activities into matters that meet the objectives of the Birds SA Conservation Fund.
• RESEARCH ON THE CONSERVATION OF SOUTH AUSTRALIAN BIRDS.
• RESEARCH INTO THE ECOLOGY OF BIRDS IN SOUTH AUSTRALIA.
The research can be either fieldwork or laboratory work in South Australia. The Research grants should be completed within a 12-month period.
At the conclusion of the work a written report of 2,000 words is required as well as a short presentation to a monthly meeting of BIRDS SA on the findings of the research.
Applications should be made on the proforma on the BIRDS SA website, (see below) and meet the Guidelines published there. Completed applications should be submitted by post to the Secretary, Birds SA c/o The South Australian Museum, North Terrace, Adelaide 5000.
Applications will be accepted during 2010 for work that will be undertaken during 2010.
The written report on the research will be completed by 31 March 2011 and the presentation to Birds SA members are to take place at one of the three subsequent monthly General meetings.
Birds SA financial support is to be acknowledged in any publication of the research.
